Il Dipartimento di Psicologia dei Processi di Sviluppo e Socializzazione organizza il Seminario “Challenges and Resources on the Pathway to Empowerment and Quality of Life: A Review of Recent Research from the Laboratory for Psycho-oncology Research" a cura del Prof. Thomas Merluzzi, visiting professor from University of Notre Dame (U.S.A.).
Professor Merluzzi’s presentation will focus on some recent projects that have emphasized factors that compromise adjustment and quality of life for persons with cancer such as stressful life events (Merluzzi, Chirico, Serpentini, Yang, & Philip, 2019), comorbid disease (Merluzzi, Philip, Gomer, & Heitzmann, 2019), and perceived discrimination (Merluzzi, Philip, Zhang, & Sullivan, 2015) as well as factors that may enhance adjustment and quality of life such as matching need and provision of social support (Merluzzi, Philip, Yang, & Heitzmann, 2016), a new construct called social relationship coping efficacy (Merluzzi, Serpentini, Philip, Yang, Salamanca-Balen, Heitzmann, & Catarinella, 2019), and self-efficacy for coping (Merluzzi, Philip, Heitzmann Ruhf, Liu, Yang, & Conley, 2018).
