PhD program

The PhD program aims at providing an advanced research training on the different fields of Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Educational Research with particular attention to: on the one hand (a) the theoretical and methodological aspects of the fields, and on the other hand (b) the focus on some specific thematic domains characterizing each research filed, especially at an international level. The PhD program aims at training of Ph.D. graduates able to carry out activities in universities and public and private research institutions. Among public research institutions are those typically interested in Social Research (EG CENSIS Istat) to Opinion Polls and Market Research. Further specific outlet is represented by public and private entities interested in educational research.

In this perspective, the PhD program consists of four main formative curricula, differently focused on these aspects and variously internationalized, as specified below.

Call for application

Call for applicaion to the XXXIII cycle is available for download on the Sapienza website (see the right box) and at the bottom of this page pageThe application for admission must be submitted by 31 OF JULY 2017.

Requires documentation

The required documentation, in ITALIAN or ENGLISH, is as follows:

  • TITLES:
  1. Academic Curriculum (List of exams taken and respective marks/grades);
  2. Curriculum vitae, indicating, where present, also research experience (including thesis);
  3. List of publications (including communications or posters presented at conferences);
  4. Declaration of Certification and Act Notoriety (D.P.R.445 / 2000 Art. 46 and 47).
  • RESEARCH PROJECT:
    Short research project (Maximum 1000 words, excluding title and bibliography) concerning one of the two curricula of the PhD.

The documentation must be received by 12.00 am on 4/9/2017:

  • by email (at didatticadip38@uniroma1.it) indicating in the subject of the mail a) the name and surname of the candidate and b) the curriculum (SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY OR DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH). Documents must be sent as pdf format and can not exceed the size of 5 MB;
  • Alternatively, documents requested can be sent via ordinay post addressing to the Dipartimento di Psicologia dei Processi di Sviluppo e Socializzazione – Dottorato XXXII Ciclo, 3° Piano, st. 320, Via dei Marsi, 78, 00185 Roma. Within the postal parcel must be specified the curriculum (SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY or DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH). The parcel must be received by the secretariat of the department by 12:00 pm of 4/9/2017.
     

Admission tests and evalutation criteria

Preliminary Evaluation of the titles and research project for admission to the oral examination and qualifications: 18/09/2017 hour 9:30, meeting room "E.Ponzo", Department of Social and Developmental Psychology, Via dei Marsi 78, Rome. Criteria for assessment are available for download at the bottom of this page.

Language of the test: ITALIAN or ENGLISH.

Oral exam

The oral exam will start from 27/09/2017 at 09:30 , meeting room "E.Ponzo", Department of Social and Developmental Psychology, Via dei Marsi 78, Rome.  The oral exam aims to deepen, through an interview, the theoretical topics addressed in the research project presented. Further discussion topics will cover the candidate's competences, motivation and previous curricular experiences.

Language of the test: ITALIAN or ENGLISH.
